Coimbatore : Lawyers in Mettupalayam boycotted court proceedings today to express their condemnation against the Pollachi sexual abuse scandal which has triggered shockwaves across the State.
The protesting lawyers raised slogans demanding swift trial of the accused in the case and a thorough probe to bring to light all the people linked to this gruesome scandal. The lawyers insisted that the case should not be politicised and that the State government should ensure safety of women. Due to the protest, all court proceedings came to a grinding halt.
